COMMUNITY SERVICE

A look at my community service and ways I've been able to contribute and give back.

Multiple-year recipient of:
  • The Presidential Volunteer Service Award (2023-2025)
  • The Congressional Service Award (2025)
  • The Newport Beach Youth Volunteer Award (2026)

This year, I've had the opportunity to serve as my highschool's Service Learning Prefect. This is a new role, and it's been really rewarding to build relationships with local philanthropic organizations and help match students with volunteer opportunities.

Since 7th grade I've been a committed volunteer. I have loved being involved with a couple of organizations consistently over a number of years, including tutoring low income students from non-English speaking homes, and serving kids and families displaced by domestic violence at Second Step. I'm also a committed volunteer with the Newport Beach Public Library summer reading program (which is how I first discovered books on Roman and Greek myths.)

* Note: The Presidential Volunteer Service Award is no longer awarded, but I have continued to serve at the same level of commitment.

Volunteering at Second Step.

Special memories with my dad setting up holiday decorations for women and families at Second Step, a transitional housing program for women and kids to escape the cycle of domestic abuse.

I've volunteered consistently with this organization since 7th grade, and have appreciated being able to spend quality time helping out, playing games, and doing crafts with the kids in this program consistently throughout the year over multiple years.

Recognized for over 100+ hrs/yr of Community Service (2023-Present).
